Strategic Process

Our effective approach to family law can be best summed up in a strategic seven-step process that is designed to achieve the best possible outcome for our clients.

1.  Investigation of Your Goals – We will analyze your case and develop short- and long-term goals related to your financial security, health and identity, as well as co-parenting and your children’s well-being, if applicable.

2.  Process Review – Family law disputes can be approached in different ways – from the sword to the dove, to use a simple metaphor. Together, we will review various problem-solving models – such as uncontested, mediation, collaborative law or litigation – and choose the appropriate course of action.

3.  Review of Tools – We will inform you of:

a) The law as it is written and applied in real life

b) The availability of allied professionals outside the legal field who can assist you in bringing a satisfactory resolution to your case

c) The need to always keep your eye on the goal line. (See No. 1)

4.  Information Gathering – We will gather the information needed for you to make confident and informed decisions.

5.  Creative Problem Solving – There is more than one way to solve a problem.

6. Constant Evaluation – We will constantly evaluate how  your decisions impact the goals you have developed and make revisions, when and if necessary.

7.  Resolution – We will either negotiate a final resolution to your case, or present your case to the judge, as is warranted.
